| Problem Set Due at the beginning of class each Monday. | Selected problems from the textbook. | 20% |
| Friday Quiz | A 10 minute quiz with two questions: one in the spirit of the daily writing and one from the problem set. | 10% |
| Computation Lab | The Thursday afternoon meeting: 2:30-4:00 Macintosh lab (312 Olds-Upton) Away from the traditional classroom setting, we'll work individually and in groups, using computational tools, to continue our study of the week's topics. | 10% |
| Project | The projects will arise from the applications of derivatives in chapter 4. Small groups will be assembled, with one topic per group. Work on the projects will lead to written research reports and oral presentations. | 20% |
